As it transforms Mount Royal Park to make it more hospitable to pedestrians, the city of Montreal has been quietly creating a winding path on a stretch that used to be part of Remembrance Rd.

Dotted with park benches, the path, which runs past the Côte-des-Neiges Armoury, connects Côte-des-Neiges Rd. with paths that lead to Beaver Lake and other parts of the mountain

When I visited in November, it didn’t seem to be officially open but it was already usable. There are no signs yet to indicate whether it’s only for pedestrians or if cyclists can also use it.

The path is light grey in the map below.

Map shows how the city has simplified the Côte-des-Neiges Rd. / Remembrance Rd. intersection. A former part of Remembrance is now a pedestrian path. It’s shown in light grey on the map.
