Escarpment path: How to find Mount Royal’s rugged path with the best vistas

Here’s a map I created to help you find and enjoy the Escarpment path (sentier de l’Escarpement), one of the hikes I wrote about in my four-part series for the Montreal Gazette.

You can reach it from the stairs that allow you to climb to the chalet from the Peel St. entrance to Mount Royal.

Below are snippets about the path from a good city map of Mount Royal.

Before you get to the top of the stairs, you’ll reach a secondary set of stairs that allow you to head to a dirt path on the right. That’s the escarpment path.
