Mount Royal: Montreal’s wildlife oasis is under threat

Mount Royal is Montreal’s green crown jewel. But all is not well up there.

The animals and plants are under threat – from human activity, invasive insects and climate change.

This week, I took a walk on the mountain with the guy who coordinates conservation efforts for Les amis de la montagne.

I wrote a story for the Montreal Gazette about Mount Royal’s flora and fauna and the dangers they face.

It’s part of my coverage of the UN COP15 biodiversity/nature conference in Montreal this month.
